SF Giants lineup: Crawford returns, pending batting practice

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford returns to the lineup Saturday after missing three games with a pair of sprained fingers. He sustained the injury sliding into second base during a stolen attempt on Tuesday, a 5-4 win against San Diego. The spot in the lineup is not guaranteed, as Hank Schulman reports that he could be scratched if batting practice doesn’t go well. Joaquin Arias would most likely fill in, having started the last three games at short.

Crawford will try to help the Giants stop a nasty streak. After taking the first two of the the four-game series, the Marlins have now won 9 straight games in AT&T Park. This is the longest current streak of any team against the Giants, and especially painful against a team that has lost 25 more games than it has won this season.

Kyle Crick injury: Right-handed prospect to rejoin San Jose’s rotation Friday

Kyle Crick is set to re-join the San Jose Giants rotation Friday, according to Joe Ritzo of the San Jose club. The right-handed starter had been out since April 18 with an oblique injury. He had started just three times before the injury, pitching a total of 9.2 innings and posting a 0.93 ERA.

According to Baseball America, Crick was the No. 1 prospect in the Giants’ system following the 2012 season. Prior to that, he was the No. 8 prospect at the ripe old age of 18. In 121 innings at low-A and High-A, Crick has a 2.31 ERA, striking out more than ten batters per nine innings and allowing 6.3 hits per nine. His last season-plus has been impressive, especially considering Crick is still just 20 years old.

The Giants drafted Crick out of high school (Sherman, TX) with the 49th selection in the 2011 amateur draft. He was San Francisco’s second pick in that draft, as they took middle infielder Joe Panik with the 29th pick.

Angel Pagan injury: Giants center fielder carted off from rehab start

Although games won’t make you hire traffic accident injury lawyers, the chances of injuries are no less.Giants center fielder Angel Pagan injured his knee running to first base in the first game of his rehab assignment in San Jose, according to Joe Ritzo of the San Jose Giants. On a grounder to second in the ninth inning, Pagan was running down the line before he came up limping, eventually crumpling to the ground in pain. The eight-year veteran was carted back to the clubhouse.

Injury does not only mean those that reach attorneys for moto accidents claims. Pagan was the first in a series of position-player injuries for the Giants. Scutaro, Sandoval and Crawford followed, leaving Bruce Bochy pretty short-handed. A combination of Andres Torres, Gregor Blanco and newcomer Juan Perez have filled in nicely as far as getting on-base and playing center field, but their inability to hit for power — a decent portion of Pagan’s value — has hindered the Giants.

A lawyer specializing in auto accident claims said that Pagan has been a good player.  Before his injury, Pagan was batting .262/.314/.374 with 10 doubles and three home runs. In this situation, it is best for him to hire a brain injury lawyer who can help him claim compensation for the injury and damages caused. A few ticks below his career averages, but serviceable for a center fielder who runs well and can pay his position. The Puerto Rican signed a four-year, $40 million this off-season after coming to the Giants in a trade before the 2012 season.
